Is Twitter Testing for Advertisements? Does it Matter?
Posted by admin on March 16th, 2009Many people have wondered how Twitter will be able to survive without any advertising. Though millions of SMS, 3rd Party Client, and Automatic Tweets there are per day, users have yet to be burdened with contextual advertising of any kind. Well today, it seems as if a limited amount of Twitter accounts have a new spot under the user’s statistics, which displays two tiny adverts: one discussing Twitter Widgets and another discussing the Search API.
Is Twitter testing this area to see if it will suffice as a profitiable area for tiny advertisements? Or, are they simply trying to promote their own features until they become more mainstream? Does it even make a difference? I guess we’ll all find out soon.

I don’t think it matters. I mean, every site needs to make money or they’ll eventually be shut down. That area is probably not as annoying as in-line Tweet ads or something. It doesn’t bother me.
Great Blog! Very informative, I appreciate all the information that you just shared with me very much and I also bookmarked this on dig too. Take care and I’ll be back to read more in the future.
